Match #5 - Smackdown Tag Team Championship Triple Threat Ladder Match - John Morrison vs. Jimmy Uso vs. Kofi Kingston - I have a tough time getting interested in Morrison. Good spots throughout. Disappointing ending with Morrison dropping with the titles after a dual headbutt. Good match, poor ending.

I cared about this one more than I wanted to. DQ gets the first end. Owens asks for no DQ for a finish. Match restarts. Seth in control for the most part. Steps, chairs, ring bell. 3 Stars - American Bad Ass Wins

Overall Wrestlemania Part 1 was 2.5 Stars. The Boneyard match kept my interest. Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins match was the best of the night even though I didn’t want to like it. The crap that comes out of the commentators… Ugh… I will say there is something missing without the crown, but I really do like being able to hear the wrestlers talking in the ring during the match. Braun finally gets that Universal Championship. Mostly because Goldberg is too expensive, but I am glad to finally see Braun with the title.

Superplex/powerbomb. Baszler enters next and eliminates Logan and Riott and Natalya. Baszler waits for the next opponent. Morgan enters and goes after Baszler. Morgan passes out and is eliminated. Baszler waits for Asuka. Asuka enters last and puts up the best fight so far, but is shortly eliminated. Fast eliminations made for slow action.

4 Stars - Shayna Baszler wins

Overall WWE Elimination Chamber gets 2.5 Stars. A show with no major title matches. Neither the WWE or Universal titles were defended on this show. The PreShow and first couple matches were not at all interesting for me. The Smackdown Tag Team Championship Elimination Chamber Match was a good match with an ok outcome. The Womens Elimination Chamber Match was also a good watch, but was slow and lacked action. The other matches were average at best.

WWE Super ShowDown (2020) Review

WWE is back in Saudi Arabia. Show starts like a big PPV in a big arena.

Kickoff Show Match - The OC defeated The Viking Raiders. I didn’t see this match.

Match #1 - Tuwaiq Trophy Match - Match starts with R-Truth vs Bobby Lashley. Truth takes lots of bumps, but gets the pin as a fluke. Next is R-Truth vs Andrade. Truth gets the pin again as a fluke. Next is R-Truth vs Erick Rowan. Rowan is dominant over Truth, but is eventually disqualified for hitting Truth with the ring steps. Next is R-Truth vs AJ Styles. AJ submits Truth with a Calf Crusher. Next is supposed to be AJ Styles vs Rey Mysterio, but the OC attacked him. The Undertaker then attacks the OC and makes his way to the ring for AJ Styles vs The Undertaker. The undertaker Chokeslams AJ for the pin. Overall an entertaining match with a good performance by R-Truth.

4 Stars - The undertaker is the Tuwaiq Trophy Winner

Match #5 - Mansoor vs Dolph Ziggler - Hometown Mansoor gets good pop from the crowd.

Match #6 - WWE Championship Match Brock Lesner vs Ricochet - This was the stereotypical squash match. I am not sure why they would have Ricochet take a beat like this.

1 Star - Brock Lesner retains

Match #7 - Roman Reigns vs King Corbin in a Steel Cage - This was an OK Cage match.

2 Stars - Roman Reigns wins

Match #8 - SmackDown Women’s Championship match Bayley vs Naomi - Both competitors wore full body suits and t-shirts due to local laws, Bayley used the t-shirt for the win. Match had good bumps.

3.5 Stars - Bayley retains

Match #9 - Universal Championship Match “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt vs Goldberg - This was a typical historical Goldberg match where he is dominant over his opponent like the WCW days. Hopefully they will do away with “The Fiend” gimmick now.

3.5 Stars - Goldberg wins the Universal Championship

Overall Super ShowDown get 2.5 stars. The opening match being the most entertaining. The rest of the show was mediocre. Both championship matches were short.

WWE NXT Takeover Portland Review

Show starts with Poppy and 2 songs… I liked the NXT EP she did and this was equally well done. Would have liked to see her sing a wrestler to the ring again, but good for WWE to NOT repeat something…

Match #1 - NXT North American Championship Keith Lee vs Dominik Dijakovic for the  NXT North American Championship - Best match of the night for me. Great back and forth action and overall a well produced match. Look WWE two people don’t have to hate each other to have a great title match. Respect shown afterwards.

5 Stars - Keith Lee Retains

Match #2 - Dakota Kai vs Tegan Nox in a Street Fight - Good match till the last few minutes. WWE Why do so many matches need to end with interference?

2 Stars - Interference - Dakota Kai Wins with help from Raquel Gonzalez

Match #3 - Finn Balor vs Johnny Gargano - Good match Good back and forth action.

3.5 Stars - Finn Balor Wins

Match #4 -  NXT Championship - Rhea Ripley vs. Bianca Belair - Good match with good action and good spots. Charlotte Flair comes out after the match and puts a beat down on both competitors and declares her match for WrestleMania. Spot is well done and did not affect the match.

4 Stars - Rhea Ripley Retains

Match #5 -  NXT Tag Team Championship - Undisputed Era vs. The BroserWeights - Great match UE and BW produce great spots with lots of action

4.5 Stars -  BroserWeights win the  NXT Tag Team Championship

Match #6 - NXT Championship - Adam Cole vs. Tommaso Ciampa - Starts off as a great match. Great spots and action. Ends on typical disappointment with the rest of UE interfering… Too Predictable. Then we have a Johnny Gargano heel turn… Ugh… WWE, Why not make all your talent Heels? Johnny’s interference causes  Tommaso to lose.

3 Stars -  Adam Cole Retains - Would have been 5 Stars without the predictable interference.

Overall NXT Takeover Portland get 3.5 Stars - Good matches, though 2 had disappointing endings. WWE Ends too many matches with DQ or  interference.

Thanks for the Read…
